Happy March

Happy March! Well spring is here and the mountain is skiing with perfect Spring conditions. That is the best thing about March-it is either spring or Powder skiing. Hope we get a bit of both. The cross country trails are in and are incredibly breath taking and warm this time of year. Please let Mikey know if you will be using the trails and he can be sure and get a fresh track in as needed. It is Gay Ski week in Telluride. Great events abound, in drag ski races, lots of cocktail parties, and the Milanesque Aids Benefit Fashion show. Sports Illustrated body painting techniques and an outrageous line of clothes from the Free Box. March is always a great time to be in Telluride. Who knows Roudy might ride his horse into the Sheridan like he has been doing this winter!

BRRRRRRRRRRRR-go to the movies or Ailey Dance!

The weather has shifted and we went from 40 degrees over the weekend to minus 14 this morning. Luckily this cold snap will be short lived with the temperatures normalizing beginning tomorrow. The freezing temperatures are great for the ice. The new location and orientation of the ice rink should hold the ice in a bit longer. To get out of the cold get indoors with a movie or performance. The fighter is playing at the Telluride Nugget or the acclaimed Alvin Ailey dancers will be on stage at the Palm this Thursday evening. We are coming out of our typical January drought with 8 new inches on the ski area and hopefully a plentiful, light and fluffy spring.

Blog Requests

Hi all Gray Head blog readers and followers. In an effort to make this blog a great resource for all I would love to hear what you would like to see on the Gray Head Blog. For those interested we will frequently post our weekly logs for the next few months.

December saw record snow falls in the region. Many of you were lucky enough to be here for the holidays and big snowfall and some cold temperatures, which made for great Ice. Telluride was also shown in a fun and wonderful light at the premiere of Warren Millers Wintervention. Renowned local skiers talked about their passion for Telluride and the special and unique place we all love. In the film One long time local said, "telluride always delivers"-phenomenal skiing, great arts, European charm with a distinct American flair-a strong community that loves to have fun -Telluride!

Looks like summer is officially here! Sunny with little to no chance of rain in the near future. The long Bluegrass Weekend made the quiet off season town of Telluride kick into high gear. It is full throttle through the 4th of July.

For those of you attending wine fest the weather should be perfect. FYI there is a wedding at Gray Head this Saturday from 3:00-6:00 pm. It is a ceremony only with a small tent. The wedding party will be up for a quick rehearsal on Friday from 3:00 until 4:30. The only time slot reserved exclusively for the wedding is Saturday from 3:00-6:00. Please let Lara know if you have any questions.

Roudy and Lucia will be celebrating there Birthday tomorrow.

The pond is crystal clear and Steve and Ralph have been harassing the trout - otherwise known as catch and release fishing. Ahhhh Summertime, long days, great hikes, wild raspberries! Enjoy!

Have a great weekend.
